Otherwise I'll add a small, lonely little monster.
the software that came with my new canon xti allows me to trip the shutter from my mac if the camera is attached at the time. you could setup a camera aimed at a flower and walk away, triggering it remotely.
Thanks…my digital SLR (a Nikon) lets me do that, too, and I’ve been thinking about doing exactly that. The problem last year was less with my camera setup than my patience (and knowledge of how to shoot bees and other buzzy critters). I talked about my bumblebee safari last year (tho it’s kinda embarrassing)–you can click on the link just above the photo and read about it.
