This is awesome- I absolutely love it! I look yellow green too. Red lipstick helps balance it all out. Hah. We must have coffee. The fact that you live on the wrong coast makes it difficult.....lol. Thank you for your selfless sharing of so many resources and of course, your own beautiful art.

Thanks, Nance, that's a really wonderful compliment. To tell you the truth, I didn't know it was going to be on the cover or singled out, so it's been a bit of a surprise. When I took it into the museum a couple of weeks ago, and set it on the table with the other OGG work, the curators literally did a doubletake--artwork, me, artwork, me. One finally said, "excuse me, but is that a self-portrait?" Her partner said, "Of course it is, silly." So I suppose I really do look yellow-green in some lights... ;-)

i just got my copy of GlassCraftsman with this self-portrait on the cover. This is one of the coolest things i've ever seen! Love the colors. Thanks for sharing your how-to info, i have just taken some babysteps into casting (using sand) and am very intrigued by how you did this. Plus, like i said before, it is totally COOL!

Thanks, Steve. I've learned through sad experience to always take a rubber when I've done a lot of work on the model, but this one caught me out.

Great work Cynthia. I had hoped to enter, but didn't get round to it - wish I had.

Now I see what you were doing when you got the smoothing formula from Hugh. I am going to use a RTV rubber to take a copy of the wax figure I am making at the moment.

Good image. The bright colours work well with the image.
