Next Halloween, when two 10-year old princesses come to your door and ask “How many pieces of candy can we take?” DO NOT say, “As many as you want.”

Hey Cynthia, this year we gave out playdough and a few sets of 4 tiny cheap left over magic markers as a break from all the candy. It went over surprisingly well.
We live a little rural where the houses are far enough apart that kids know better to trick or treat here, they have their folks bus them to town or the burbs where the houses are close together and the rewards are measured in pounds. Friday night our neighborhood of 11 households gathered at one home for a informal (non-costume) light dinner. It was the first time many had met their neighbors, very nice.
