Life in the deadzone
January 23, 2008 by cynthia
For those of you who couldn’t find the blog, or worse, found it, tried to comment and couldn’t, my apologies.
Network Solutions, who holds the morganica.com domain registry (although it’s hosted elsewhere), apparently mis-entered some account information, decided my domain had expired, and shut it down on Sunday afternoon. There went blog, e-mail, and website.
Called them, they apologized and reset…but it’s amazing how much havoc a domain shutoff can wreak. I got my e-mail back in a couple of hours, but it’s only this morning that I can acess my blog tools again. There’s nothing like getting “server 500″ errors for raising the ol’ blood pressure.
BTW…if you’ve made (or tried to make) a comment since Saturday, it never arrived. Please repost, and my apologies once again.
–sigh–
Oh well

Hey, Cynthia, glad to see you back and that you managed to survive the digital hassle.
I find blogs by artists fun and interesting to read, because they can wander around and explore all kinds of things. Yours is great: I’ve been cruising through and finding myself wanting to try out some things inspired by the techniques you’ve posted! Love that Lotus bowl, want to adapt that technique to a design I have in mind. Thanks!

Wow, thanks, Dayle Ann. The thing about writing is it forces you to get your thoughts in order, and I find blogging about glass and stuff has really improved my work. But I’m glad other people enjoy it, too.
It’s interesting that LotusBowl has gotten so much favorable comment…as soon as I get out of Castuary I’m going to try a variation on that theme. I’ll post the results.
