Why I love Portland

Do I need another reason?

Where else but Glassland would the above be considered a cool hood ornament? But what I really love are the people:

Actually, this is a member of the Oregon Glass Guild leadership debating matters of, well, leadership after a really interesting lecture by artist Andy Paiko. His work must be seen to be believed.

Fascinating guy, superb craftsman and really, really nice (so is his wife). Thanks, Andy.

    Which is why The Dot and I want to move out there when she’s got her retirement rights from teaching.

    Where else but in Portland would you find a street-side shrine to Elvis in a suburban neighborhood… miniature figurines hiding underneath a hedge?
