Luann Udell

Luann Udell isn’t a glassist, but she sure writes a nice, info-packed blog for artists. It’s worth a visit. She also makes neat art.

Luann and I met long ago, in another life. Her husband, Jon,* worked with me at the same magazine. They lived in New Hampshire, land of survivalists and early voting, in what has to be one of the most idyllic settings I’ve ever seen. At the time, I was heavily into beadmaking, and when I found out that Luann was doing quite unique things in that direction, things just clicked and we yakked a blue streak.

You might know her from Crafts Report, if you’re a professional craftsperson; she writes a column for them. It’s been fun to watch her artistic career progress, and even more fun to see her share her expertise with fledgling artists like me. If you get a chance. go say hi…

*Jon is a brilliant, brilliant man who foresaw many of the Web’s social implications before the whole rest of us; his book, Practical Internet Groupware, really changed the way I saw intellectual capital management.

Thank you for sharing this Cynthia. I didn’t know about her and after reviewing just a few of her writings, she does provide a wealth of information for artists…and her art work is great too! :)
